Maida Vale BBC Compton restoration

Go to content

This Website is about the ongoing restoration of the historic Compton Electrone Organ originally in the Maida Vale Studios of the BBC.
Work commenced in August 2008.

This organ has an interesting history being originally designed to augment orchestras in the BBC Studios and was played amongst others by Bill Davis. It fell into disuse and was obtained by the Brentford Music Museum. They displayed the console but never played it in public.
The Organ is now owned by Tim Wardley and a full restoration is being carried out by Tim Wardley and Pat Dunham.
